About Outside Five

We’re a nature-loving, homeschooling family of five who finds joy, growth, and belonging in the great outdoors. With our three daughters as our favorite hiking companions, we’ve discovered that nature isn’t just where we play — it’s where we learn, build resilience, and deepen our connection to one another.

The outdoors shapes everything we do. It’s where our girls gain confidence on mountain trails, let their imaginations roam freely, and develop a lasting respect for the living world around them. Whether we’re exploring hidden waterfalls, camping beneath star-filled skies, or discovering small wonders in our own backyard, we’ve found that meaningful learning unfolds naturally outside.

We keep our lives simple, intentional, and grounded. Our days are guided by rhythms that support health, connection, and curiosity — choosing sustainable practices where we can and teaching our children to tread lightly on the earth we love.

But our appreciation for the outdoors goes beyond recreation. We believe wild places matter. Clean air matters. Clean water matters. Accessible public lands matter. We are committed to raising our daughters not only to enjoy the beauty of this earth, but to protect it — to live in harmony with it rather than in opposition to it.

Between homeschool lessons, trail days, and the everyday work of family life, we create handmade goods inspired by the landscapes we love.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and carefully stitched in our family home using earth-conscious materials chosen with intention and care. We believe practical items can be beautiful, meaningful, and long-lasting — made not for fast consumption, but for everyday use and quiet joy.
